Mary and Joseph Retreat Center, Rancho Palos Verdes

What happens to you when anger comes into your therapy room? How do you work with your clients’ anger? Perhaps you:

  • Become frightened and shut down
  • Ignore the anger (and hope it goes away)
  • Attempt to talk with your client about the source of the anger, and meet a wall of resistance

Anger is often overwhelming to clinicians as well as to clients. A deeper understanding of the sources of anger, combined with a variety of interventions to call upon, can help you feel more grounded as you work with anger in your individual sessions.

During this seminar, you will

  • Look at anger through the lens of various theoretical models
  • Become more adept at diagnosing clients who present with anger
  • Learn a variety of cognitive and depth-oriented interventions for working with anger
